The Bench Neighborhood Bar Now Open in Vista Village
A new bar is now open on the Boise Bench fittingly called: The Bench Neighborhood Bar. And the straightforward name couldn't be a more apt descriptor of the simple space. The tiny pub features a long rectangular bar, a few high tables and a couple of TVs playing sports with the volume turned down.
When I stopped by to check the place out yesterday afternoon, a few neighborhood residents sat sipping brews and chatting with the bartender. There's no cocktail menu or craft beer list—what you see is what you can get.
The Bench currently offers six beers on tap, including Payette’s North Fork Lager and Outlaw IPA, Deschutes’ Black Butte Porter, Sockeye’s Angel's Perch Amber, Shock Top and Coors Light.
The spot also offers liquor, but only has a few bottles stocked on the shelves including: Crown Royal, Pendleton, Jameson and Johnnie Walker Red. Happy hour runs seven days a week from 3-7 p.m. Wells are $3, domestics are $2.75 and micros are $3.25.
Though the small bar only serves booze, it’s conveniently located right next door to BBQ4LIFE in the Vista Village Shopping Center, should you get a sudden craving for pork ribs.
