A Peek Inside Chateau des Fleurs in Eagle

Eagle's extravagant new wedding and event venue, Chateau des Fleurs, is now serving dinner at its on-site Provençal restaurant, Le Coq d'Or. On Thursday, I got a chance to tour the 21,000-square-foot Chateau—modeled after the Palace of Versailles—and it's quite stunning.

Constructed in just under a year, The Chateau is located at 176 S. Rosebud Lane in Eagle and features white marble floors, crystal chandeliers, two grand ballrooms filled with gold Chiavari chairs, two private dining rooms named after truffles, a bridal suite with a claw-foot tub and a 66-seat farm-to-table restaurant open to the public.

The stately building also boasts a number of original paintings by Mark Lajos, a Hungarian-born artist.

"He initially pained a lot of the nobles in Europe," explained Chateau Creative Director Roshan Roghani. "But he came to the U.S. around the same time as Gershwin and he got really inspired by painting American women because he was like, ‘Oh, American women work and dream and get excited and they’re not just sitting around doing nothing."

The on-site restaurant, Le Coq d'Or, is helmed by Chef Franck Bacquet (pictured below), formerly of Le Coq Rouge. The French-inspired eatery features a truly farm-to-table menu, with produce plucked from the estate's sprawling garden—everything from Brussels sprouts to Lacinato kale to Gold raspberries.

Le Coq d'Or is hosting a reservation-only soft opening tonight, Saturday, Oct. 3. You can make reservations by calling 208-860-8844.

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 6, the restaurant will be open for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays; and from 5 to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays. There will also be a weekly tea held Wednesdays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

You can check out the Fall menu at the end of this post. And make sure to read my full article on Chateau des Fleurs in next week's Boise Weekly.
