Lured in by the smell of sizzling beef on an open grill, I elbowed through a crowd of Whole Foods Boise shoppers clustered around a patio pop-up restaurant Saturday afternoon.
The cart was offering a $12 special featuring South American specialties like Argentinian-style beef with chimichurri sauce, Peruvian aji de gallina—grilled chicken in a bright yellow aji pepper sauce—fried empanadas, beans and potatoes. For $12 you get a hearty serving of everything pictured below, which seems like a super sweet deal.
