Gaucho's is Now Serving Argentine Eats at the Boise Mall

You read that right. There's now a local, family owned Argentine restaurant at the Boise Towne Square Mall. Gaucho's: A Taste of Argentina opened Tuesday, May 26 in the mall food court and primarily offers empanadas—served either baked or fried.

Owned by George and Elida Sileoni, who are originally from Argentina but now live in Caldwell, Gaucho’s menu includes everything from a traditional empanada—with ground beef, onion, green olives and hard-boiled egg (pictured above)—to a Caprese empanada with mozzarella, basil and tomatoes. Gaucho’s also offers breakfast empanadas: sausage or bacon with egg and cheese.

Besides empanadas, the spot serves a few sandwiches, like the Choripán

with grilled sausage on a French hoagie topped with chimichurri. And for those with a sweet tooth, there are also smaller dessert empanadas in flavors like Nutella and banana or dulce de leche.

I don't know the last time I've been to the mall food court, but this place is definitely worth a stop if you’re in the vicinity. Just make sure to ask for a side of delightfully tart, tomato-flecked chimichurri to go with your empanada.

Gaucho’s empanadas cost $3.95 each, or you can get two empanadas, fries and a soda for $7.99.
