Vodka Balls! Borscht! Here's the Russian Food Festival's Full Menu

Bring your appetite for blinis, borsht and Baltika beer because Boise's annual Russian Food Festival is going down Friday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the St. Seraphim of Sarov Orthodox Church.

 

I heartily recommend the crisp chebureki (pictured above, far right), but here's the full menu for your perusal:

 

RUSSIAN FOOD FESTIVAL MENU:


ENTREES

Beef Stroganoff with rice or noodles (the stroganoff is gluten free)
Shish Kebab (2 skewers) with rice

SIDE DISHES

Russian Crepes filled with beef and mushrooms or homemade cottage cheese
Piroshki - filled with meat, cabbage, or apples and dried fruit
Stuffed Peppers
Chebureki - spiced meat or potato filled pockets

SALADS

Spicy Carrot Salad
Mushroom Zakuson - Russian style marinated mushrooms
Vinaigrette (beets, carrots, potatoes, sweet onion, cabbage, and pickles)
Cabbage Salad

SOUP

Vegetarian Borscht

DESSERTS

Napoleon Cake (layered puff pastry with vanilla patisserie cream)
Medovik (honey cake)
Oreshki (caramel and almond filled cookies)
